Coffee table with hinged top,  Dec 2021

My youngest got a new couch for Christmas for his room and he wanted something special so I made him this with a compartment for stuff. 

Amaranth (Purple heart) and rustic Oak.  The oak was left over from another project.  Routed the edge so it doesn't look too much like a cutting board... 

Build notes

Sorry, no build pics however it was identical to this one but with a hinged top and, of course, different wood species.   This was my quickest project to date - took me a weekend to build and another few hours to finish and attach the top.  Finished with a few applications of danish oil and a spray matt clear coat.
