My son wanted a night stand with a hidden compartment. He was 11 when he asked about this, so of course everyone knows about the hidden drawer, but that's what makes it cool for him.
Jantoba and ash with rustic ash drawer fronts and some exotic veneer plywood on the sides.
An acquired taste this one, but he loves it and that's what counts.
Rustic ash fronts
Top was hard to glue up. It all kept slipping.
Top frame is glued strips, ash and jantoba
Made the legs by gluing 2, 2.2cm pieces together then ripping square
